In honor of our OMV brothers
in the Philippines
Alex and Algie, our two Als
As we are about to celebrate one of the
greatest joys of the year, the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ, I want to
thank God for all his blessings towards our Religious Congregation, the Oblates of the Virgin Mary. On December
10th 2016, two OMV brothers have been ordained to the priesthood. They
are the first OMV priests who have done their entire priestly formation in the Philippines .
Congratulations to you dear Alex and Algie!
When we look at the photos put on this blog,
what strikes us right away is the radiant joy we see on our OMV Oblate faces.
This is why I share this blog with you today. The title of my blog is “ Dieu ma
joie ” (“ God My Joy ”). I am deeply touched by any expression of true joy, of
Christian Joy.
I see my Oblate Filipino Brothers as a great
gift for our Congregation and a reminder of the importance of being radiant witnesses to God’s Holy Joy.
Here is the Christmas Card we received from our Filipino Brothers; notice the joy in the colors and the text:
And here is a video taken on the day of Algie and Alex's ordination to the prieshood. If you don't have time to watch the whole video, please go towards the end as we see the two new priests giving their first blessings as ministers of Christ; and look at their smiles.

As sadness seems to be one of the caracteristics of the rich nations, joy is surely the caracteristic of the nations living in poverty. Yes Lord your words are so true: "Blessed (or "Happy") are the poor".
MERRY AND HOLY CHRISTMAS
